How Do You Handle Criticism As You Become More Successful?

Written by Chaney Weiner

It’s true…

And one of the 3 most important things to know and live by.

Whether you are at “rock bottom” or are a multi-millionaire, or anywhere in between you want to pay close attention to what I have to say today.

Because what I’ll be sharing with you today is certainly one of the most important things you’ll hear me speak about.

I’ve received thousands of emails and comments from many wonderful people over the past few years.

Most of these center around trying to get out of situations they don’t want to be in, especially those involving money and the effects of it in others areas of their lives.

While it may and usually does seem to appear one way on the surface, these types of situations that people often find themselves in has in large part to do with a sub conscious fear of being successful and wealthy.

And right at the center of this is the fear of what others will say about them as they do become wealthy and successful.

Of course this can and does occur on many different levels depending on one’s situation.

So this leads to a specific point I want to speak more about…

“How do you handle criticism as you become more successful?”

halfofyourlifeLarger1. Half full, half empty

I’m sure you’re all familiar with the question, “Is the glass half full or half empty.” To most people this question is seen as a way to get an idea if someone has more of a positive or negative outlook on things.

Contrary to the popular belief that it is better to see the glass as half full, it is much more empowering and wiser for you to see the glass as being half full and half empty.

Why?

Because we live in a two sided world and every person is two sided, meaning that you have both positive and negative traits and that each serves you and humanity otherwise they wouldn’t exist.

Most people are addicted to the one sided fantasy of trying to be more of one side (positive) than the other (negative). It may appear that way on the surface but in actuality there is both and they occur simultaneously.

What does this have to do with you becoming wealthier and more successful?

If you are seeking out more of the positive side and expecting people and situations to be more supporting, kind, nice, easy, and so on, guess what happens when the other side shows up…you’ll have a difficult time dealing with it and may even want to avoid it altogether.

And it is what I just said that sub consciously has people fearing and avoiding going to higher levels of wealth and success in their lives.

This is where your ability to handle criticism comes into play…

TreeBranches22. The branches of trees

You may have heard me mention the following… “In order for a tree to grow to the sun it must shed branches.” Now what does this have to do with you and what we’re speaking about?

If you are looking to become more successful and wealthier it is important for you to understand that you’ll be shedding people along the way. This may include friends, family, and people who you may have been close to.

Let’s face it, this is a tough one for most people to deal with and in many cases it keeps them stuck and in a pattern of self sabotage without even realizing it.

In addition, many times people are afraid of the criticism they’ll receive from others and that they’ll “lose” those special people in their life.

Taken even further, many times people are afraid of what anyone will say about them and want more people to like and support them.

Understand this…

If you can only handle 5 people disliking you, then you can only expect 5 people to like you. If you can only handle 5 people challenging you, then you can only expect 5 people to support you.

If you want 1 million people liking and supporting you and what you do then you better be prepared to have 1 million people disliking and challenging you.

Here’s the major takeaway…

You’ll only grow to the level of success (and wealth) that you’re willing to take on and embrace both sides equally.

So…how big are you looking to play in the game?

Platform3. Standing on your platform

Here’s one thing I am absolutely certain of, “Everyone has a message and deserves to be heard.” Along with this is the fact that every person has something of tremendous value to contribute to the world.

What is that for you?

Now let’s tie this in and come back to the question of the day:

“How do you handle criticism as you become more successful?”

The best way to deal with criticism and the challenges that come with having greater wealth and success is to know that you’ll always be supported and challenged, liked and disliked, along with also being praised and criticized.

If you are afraid of how others will react and think as you grow to these higher levels of wealth and success, then look to see how it benefits them as well as you.

When you can see how it serves and benefits them it will take the load off of you and remove much of the sub conscious fear and self sabotaging you may have been carrying around.

If this involves the people you care about most, then communicate to them how your greater wealth and success benefits them.

If they (or anyone for that matter) can’t see it then move on and “shed that branch” in your life.

Just know that you are always loved.

This means that no matter what you do, you’ll always have both sides of life being there to remind you of how magnificent and brilliant you really are.

This is the secret to true fulfillment in your life and is also one of the best ways to realize how amazing of a person you are and the tremendous amount of value you contribute to the world.
